Lyptus®, made by Weyerhaeuser in Brazil from eucalyptus, has been used to form the central deck, fascias to a cantilevered roof and the staircase in the garden.
Landscape designer Sarah Eberle said Lyptus had provided the warmth of colour needed to recreate the Mediterranean environment of the garden.
“Importantly for the ethos of the garden, it is backed up by proven environmental credentials,” she said.
Woodlink UK, which supplies Lyptus® in the UK, said the decking’s appearance at Chelsea (May 22-25) would provide an opportunity for the product to shine.
Eucalyptus trees used to manufacture the product can be harvested within 14-16 years, compared to 60 years and more for many tropical tree species.
This project has been brought to life thanks to the Steering Committee created by the Monaco Government.
